May 2002. Not having come face to face with one before, I can only assume this feature which looks like a dyke is a lava dyke! It runs along the SW side of a small islet and heads NW onto Renish point where is disappears under several feet of peat. The orientation would be consistent with The Skye Cuillin being the source of the lava. The location is OS Grid Ref NG 0443 8193, very near the cave marked at Renish Point on the OS Pathfinder Series Map, No.117
